It's always good to see Australia getting some decent art. There's usually much controversy when any public collection acquires a good painting in Australia.

One of the sadest things I have ever seen is when the Whitlam Labor Government allowed controversy about the potential purchase of Braque's Grande Nu to influence their decision. Whitlam pulled the plug on the sale and the country lost a great treasure.
