The Scream Thieves Jailed
The gang that stole paintings by the Norwegian master, Edvard Munch have been put behind bars. The three art thieves that were convicted received sentences that ranged from 5 and half, through to 9 and a half years each.
Petter Tharaldsen was the driver behind the theft. He received 9 and half years, but was also involved in another unrelated robbery. Bjoern Hoen planned the theft. He was sentenced to 9 years in prison. Stian Skjold was one of the masked gunmen that entered the museum (the other gunman died from a drug overdose last year). He received 5 years for his efforts.

I think we would just use knives or other weapons more Angela. Man just does not get along with man.

I'm confused, why would the person who carries a gun in a robbery receive the least amount time? 5 years? Did he make a deal or something?
Repairing the paintings is an intentional act. Damaging of them which was probably not intentional and is now a part of their history. Repair falls into the same category of reproduction. It simply is not possible to reproduce any art perfectly by hand. So wouldn't it be better to leave the damage and not alter the paintings any more than has already been done? My vote would be leave them alone and just make sure nobody else can ever steal 'em again.
what is truly sad is that the theives are so callous about the art itself. to destroy something you are stealing is idiotic.

Maybe some of the emerging artists should think about getting someone to steal their artworks. The publicity seems to be well worth the effort!!
