  Matisse and Picasso Videos
I have probably been wasting too much time at YouTube lately. It's an excellent time waster, unless you have a "to do" list that is a mile long.

Two artists that I can never get enough of are Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso. Picasso because he's a ball of energy that lived to paint, and Matisse because he painted to make the world a more beautiful place.

Here's Pablo Picasso working on some paintings (that were destroyed after filming).

And here's a collection of works by Henri Matisse, set to some nice music.

Art News Blog Comments:
It's interesting that Picasso chose to do a film of work that he intended to destroy afterwards. Wonder what motivated that? Interesting.

The act of creation is something intimate, certain artists don't stand neither their own presence while they are working and Pablo was one of these ones. Once he said:"When I work I always left my body out of the door".
Fontana made some video about his "cuts",too. But,likely Picasso, he didn't show the act of cutting. The video was mounted with 2 separeted scenes:an undamaged canvass followed by the image of a knife inserted on a cut. Both Pablo and Lucio weren't performers, I personally appreciate their behaviors.

Great Videos, definitely a good way to pass the time. Unless you should be doing other things like work for instance ;-)

Well, I don't think he destroyed them because he was too worried about what left his studio, as I've seen some really bad Picassos.

As much as I love Pablo, he didn't hit the mark everytime.

When Matisse died,Picasso said,
Now,I will paint for the both of us

That's a good one Richard. I hadn't heard that before.

Picasso probably painted enough work for 10 artists!!
