  Missing in Inaction
photo of newcastleSorry about the lack of posts lately. I would like to say that I have been busy in the studio or working on something really big and exciting, but I have just had a lazy week. The busiest I got was when I drove into Newcastle on Tuesday (about 20 minutes drive) and stared at the ocean for a while (see pic).

There's something about the ocean that seems to recharge my batteries. Particularly when there is a storm happening; when it makes you feel small and insignificant, but it also seems to share its power with you. I don't think I could ever live much more than half an hour away from the water.

The rest of the time was spent reading, writing and listening to music. The books that I have been reading are;

Anyway, I just thought I would explain my disappearance as a couple people were checking to see if I still existed ;-) Things should be back to normal on Monday.

I envy your being to go and sit and watch the sea-I miss that.
I understand the inaction, same at this end lol1 part of it is the looming holidays and part of it I think is just the cyclic nature of creating and doing. One needs to live an artful life besides creating it all the time, yes?

all the best
corrine

I agree with Corrine, creating art is an ebb and flow pattern of living. Unfortunately we live in a culture that deludes people to believe that if you are not always moving and producing then you're not in the main stream or not an achiever. Modern culture seems to be -all do- and -little think- which produces exactly what we see today ... a huge lack of wisdom and forethought as to where we are going and what our actions -personally & culturally- are leading to.

Time out is good... it show that you have to wisdom to know when its time to slow down and truly think about things... You should never apologies for that!

Yeah, I'm not moving any further from the water than I am now Corrine. If/when I move it will be closer to the water.

An artful life.. I need one of them I think. I think predictability probably makes ones life less artful, which is something I need to work on. More spontaneous trips to places that restore the soul will be on my 2008 calendar!!

Donald, youre so right. I feel so sorry for those that don't stop and smell the roses.
