Art News Blog Keywords & Google Analytics
I installed Google Analytics on Art News Blog a couple of days ago. It's a free website statistics program that gives you very detailed information on where your visitors are coming from, how they are finding you, what pages they're looking at, and a bunch of other stuff that is probably very useful.

I only have the data from less than one day, but it's still very interesting. For example, Art News Blog is a blog about art, so which keywords below do you think sends more traffic?

The top five countries that visitors come from are the United States with 51% of the share, United Kingdom 9%, Australia 5%, Canada 3%, India 2.8% and 68 other countries taking the rest. Also, the average time a visitor spends on the site is 2 minutes and 18 seconds.

Art News Blog Comments:
I can tell you where the British dog shit search comes from -- I read in Arts Journal (I think) that there is a British artist who made an inflatable sculpture of dog doo-doo called "Complex Shit." Apparently the sculpture blew away in a windstorm the other day.

My blog stats seems to have taken a nosedive in the last three months. So I am not sure it would be very useful for me to do the google analytics. It would just remind me of something I can't really do much about.

I find that when the northern hemisphere is outside enjoying summer, they use the internet less. Maybe that has something to do with the downturn?

Either way, its still interesting to see how people come to your site.

Oh and the most popular keywords from the little list above is "Britney Spears Naked" which is a bit sad as it's an art blog. I should create a Britney Spears category and follow her every move.. imagine the increase in traffic. It would require at least some interest in celebrity gossip, which I don't have in the least!

lol, "Britney Spears Naked" okay that is weird.

American Artist Paul McCarthy's huge, gigantic inflatable dog "SHIT" sculpture that is as big as a house busted loose from it's tie downs at a Swiss Museum. It proceeded to knock down power lines. The piece is called "Complex Shit". How stupid is this... I'm so sick and tired of the same old artist making Shit art, literally and then getting a huge venue to display their SHIT.
