Radiology Art
I found out about the "radiology art" of Satre Stuelke from a NY Times article called "The Inner Beauty of a McNugget" but I would have called it something like "Scary, Toxic Looking Chicken McNuggets."
Stuelke has also done a few McDonalds burgers for his Radiology Art project and they look just as scarily toxic as the McNuggets. Sure, they're beautiful to look at but they're probably not something that should be put into your mouth.
The New York City artist's statement for the project says it is "Dedicated to the deeper visualization of various objects that hold unique cultural importance in modern society, this project intends to plant a seed of scientific creativity in the minds of all those inclined to participate"
He has photographed/scanned toys, food and electronics. My favorites are the toys, especially the wild looking barbie doll and the toy elephant. See them on his Website here. ¶ 12:20 AM

It's not art, sorry. Art is more than a technique for depicting something. Did the first person to put their boots in mud and walk across a clean for say "Hey, call the New York Times!"

Art has many aspects, one of the these aspects is in making the viewer look at the world differently. In making the ordinary visible in a different way so that we may consider it, we therefore see ourselves and our civilisation in alternative contexts.
These images acheive this status, though they may seem crass to you.
Also there is a lot to be said about the medium. A use of technology ususally reserved for medical or security purposes. Many of these will be scanned daily in checks for weapons and so on. And many of the images are of toys, which when we humans play with, we invest with life-like energy and emotion.
In the earlier part of the 20th Century a photographer / artist called Man Ray did similar work using photographic enlargers.
This was considered a pioneering concept at the time and has become a standard module in photography courses ever since. It wasn't the complexity of painterly execution but the simplicty and concise thinking that made Man Rays work striking, and that has made it become a major chapter in the history of art.
These everday items that have been taking through a CAT scan do provide us with an opportunity to see these in a different light. It may not be groundbreaking, but it surely is art.

Dear Sirs,
we are a group of radiologists, technologists and artists, who started a new project "Radiology museum", which is dedicated to Radiology art and covers Radiology curiosities, interesting images, equipment, accessories, historical images and historical figures. Anybody who is interested and would like to contribute to this group is welcome to join.
We just created a dedicated group for Radiology art on the Radiology community "Radiolopolis" (www.radiolopolis.com) and would like to invite everybody who is interested to join this endeavour.
We will soon launch a "Radiology museum" website and we would like to combine the ideas and contributions of our group members and maybe you, too. Furthermore, the artwork/contributions will be also displayed and promoted in the Radiology community "Radiolopolis". Not only images but also interesting articles about Radiology art will be offered, why a dedicated Radiology art blog for this project is also envisioned. We are now - in the start phase - searching for potential team members to discuss relevant issues and collect ideas for a great success. The Radiology museum will be launched in June/July this year.
By the way: We came to an agreement with the Journal of Radiology Case Reports (www.JRCR.org) to publish "interesting images", such as radiological artwork on a regular basis with material from our project.
