Luna Roslyn - Queen of Cities EP
Just thought I would share a nice EP called Queen of Cities put out by Luna Roslyn. They're using one of my paintings from Turkey for the cover. Hear the songs on their MySpace page here or support them by buying the album online here. It's good for the ears while holding a brush!

Napoleon Bonapart... what a looser! This was the poor sap who thought a march to Moscow in winter would be a jolly stroll for the troops. And everyone knows the capital of Earth is .... BRIGHTON UK...

My fellow, though minisculy endowed, country man Nappy(my great grandfather was also a Napoleon), was a rather intelligent bloke. Simply got too big for his tiny britches.
Istanbul(Constantinople, Byzantium) was the center of the world through his time at least. Where two continents and three major areas(including the Near East as well as Asia and Europe) and more migratory cultures than any place on earth(including Palestine).
London became it, as it stole more os the worlds treasure over the next century. New York after WWII, and now, China? They own us so why not Hong Kong? Sure aint Moscow or Jerusalem. Istanbul still tops my list of cities, well, with Paris, and Florence, though truly love the countryside,and want to go to Spain, Algeria, maybe Japan. LA is so similar to southern france, Tuscany and Aussie land, why bother there?
So Dionysus makes good travel choices. Few people know our history anymore, we all might be speaking Tartar or Arabic now if not for Constantinople. The West overlooks it, even Sacked it when on a Crusade in 1204 when supposedly going to its aid against Islam, and had been welcomed as allies. No one could break its triple walls, til artillery by the Otttomans and a dwindled population doomed it. JRR Tolkien was thinking more Byzantine Empire than the West in his Lord of the Rings. Typical Brit arrogance gave the Orcs Turkish sounding names.
And would love to see Hagia Sophia, the greatest domed building ever til the US Capitol. Someday, Istanbul awaits. Lucky Dionysus.
