- The
Scream Thieves Jailed - The gang that stole paintings by the Norwegian
master, Edvard Munch have been put behind bars. The three art thieves that were
convicted received sentences that ranged from 5 and half, through to 9 and a half
years each.

Munch Birthday at Google - It's the birthday of the famous Norwegian expressionist
painter and printmaker Edvard Munch on the 12th of December. Google is celebrating
it with a cool logo in the manner of Munch. It's basically the Scream with a Google
logo thrown in, but I quite like it.
- The
Scream Returned - Two years after the daylight robbery of Edvard Munch's
"The Scream", the painting has been returned safely. In August 2004
"The Scream" and "Madonna" were stolen by masked gunmen from
the Munch Museum in Norway.

Munch MoMA Exhibition - "Edvard Munch: The Modern Life of the Soul"
exhibition opens at the Museum of Modern Art in New York on the 19th of February,
through to the 8th of May 2006.

Munch Board Game - I guess it's always good to keep a sense of humor about
life and the challenges we come across, which kind of made me smile when I read
that the Munch Museum is selling a board game about the theft of Edvard Munch's
The Scream painting.

Museum Reopens - The Munch Museum in Norway is about to reopen, 10 months
after it lost "The Scream" painting to masked thieves during a daylight
robbery. The painting has still not been recovered, which is a pity, but the museums
says it still has another thousand Edvard Munch works to keep the visitors busy.
- Stolen
Munch Paintings - There's either a lot of art thieves in Norway or it's
just very cool to have an original Edvard Munch hanging in the living room. Two
lithographs and a small watercolor by the Norwegian artist were recently stolen
from a luxury hotel but have been recovered after a police raid in Oslo.
- Edvard
Munch in Melbourne - Australia - The National Gallery of Victoria presents
Edvard Munch – The Frieze of Life, through January 12, 2005. This, the first
comprehensive exhibition of Edvard Munch's art in Australia, assembles more than
80 works from across the artist's entire oeuvre – including paintings, prints,
drawings, and watercolours.
