  • Kate Moss Sculpture - The UK model Kate Moss will soon be a 3 meter high bronze Kate Moss sculpture in a contorted yoga pose. Marc Quinn will enlarge his previous version of Kate Moss, which was done last year, and will show it at the "Beyond Limits" sale at Chatsworth House in September.
  • Kate Moss Photo Transformation - I found a fun little tool online that converts your face into all kinds of different transformations. I used a photo of Kate Moss to transform as her head is a little more appealing than mine. Some faces work better than others.
  • Al Pacino to Play Salvador Dali - It has been reported that Al Pacino will play the role of Salvador Dali in an upcoming film called "Dali & I: The Surreal Story". Andrew Niccol will direct the Dali movie and filming is set to start in June this year.
  • Lucian Freud Kate Moss - Earlier I posted about Lucian Freud's Kate Moss painting, and the image used (shown on the left) probably wasn't very flattering, or maybe people just genuinely don't like Freud. I was just under the impression that everyone loved Freud, and that there was nothing to criticize about the man's work.
  • Lucien Freud's Kate Moss - An unusual portrait for Lucien Freud of supermodel Kate Moss, estimated to be sold for £2,500,000-3,500,000 / $4,500,000-6,500,000 at a Christies auction has sold for 3.93 million pounds ($7.32 million).
  • Lucian Freud's Kate Moss Painting - Lucian Freud is arguably the greatest living painter of the human figure. His works command prices that reflect his respect in the art world and his painting of model Kate Moss will soon be up for auction.
  • Hillary Clinton for President? - No, artnewsblog hasn't become a political news blog. Daniel Edwards has created a sculpture called "The Presidential Bust of Hillary Rodham Clinton: The First Woman President of the United States of America".
  • Britney Spears Naked Sculpture - A nude sculpture of the pop star Britney Spears clutching a dead bear rug has been creating a bit of a stir recently. The work by Daniel Edwards, titled "Monument to Pro-Life: The Birth of Sean Preston" shows Spears naked, pregnant, and sensually bent over on her knees.
  • Thomas Kinkade to Paint Elvis Presley Mansion - The painter of pretty cottages, patriotism, and religion has turned his hand and paintbrushes toward the American icon of ELVIS. Thomas Kinkade, or the Painter of Light™ has painted a sketch of Graceland and now plans to do a finished studio work in time for an upcoming anniversary of Elvis Presley.
  • Banksy does Kate Moss - The British graffiti artist Banksy has been getting a lot of media attention in recent months by painting elephants and tampering with Paris Hilton CDs. He pokes fun at fame and uses it to his advantage, which has been good for sales of his work.
  • South Park's Chef Mauled by Bear - After the recent South Park and scientology controversy, with Tom Cruise protesting and Isaac Hayes jumping ship, I was wondering how the creators would replace the Chef, or his voice.
  • Tom Cruise and South Park - Tom Cruise seems to be in the news for all the wrong reasons lately. It is reported that the actor and scientologist, Cruise has threatened to not promote his upcoming film (Mission Impossible 3) if Comedy Central aired an episode of South Park that poked fun of the "religion". Viacom (makers of MI3) is the parent company of Comedy Central (makers of South Park). Scientology seems to give people an attitude and rob them of a sense of humor.
  • Marc Quinn to do Kate Moss - The English artist Marc Quinn plans to imortalize the supermodel Kate Moss as the "Aphrodite of our age", with five bronze sculptures.
  • Rolf Harris's Portrait of the Queen - Australian expat Rolf Harris, now based in the United Kingdom caused a bit of a stir with his portrait of the Queen.
  • Walter Sickert and Jack the Ripper - Crime novelist Patricia Cornwell has pointed the finger at the German born English painter Walter Sickert, claiming that he is Jack the Ripper. Historians have labeled her claims as "far fetched" and "Circumstantial". Sounds like great marketing to me.
  • Ramones Guitarist dies at 55 - Johnny Ramone, the guitarist with the eponymous punk group The Ramones, died at his home in Los Angeles on Wednesday following a five-year battle with prostate cancer. He was 55.
