- Cold
Bare Bums for Global Warming - Nearly 600 naked people braved
the cold on the Aletsch Glacier in Switzerland for the New York photographer
Spencer Tunick recently. 600 people may not sound like much when compared
to the amount of people that got naked for Tunick in Mexico, but the
weather was probably a little more bearable in Mexico too!
- Spencer
Tunick in Mexico - The American photographer and outdoor installation
artist Spencer Tunick is looking for Mexicans that are prepared to
jump into their birthday suits for an hour or two on the 28th and
29th of April. The location has not been announced yet, but it will
be in Mexico City.
- Spencer
Tunick in Germany - The New York photographer Spencer Tunick
has recently encouraged up to 800 people to put their birthday suits
on in Düsseldorf, Germany. Tunick used a monumental nude sculpture
by Arno Breker and the Museum Kunst Palast as settings for his nude
installations.

Tunick Flesh Architecture - Not everyone knows his name, but
I'm sure most people know the work of Spencer Tunick. He's the guy
that gets thousands of people all around the world to take their clothes
off in public places and pose for him, while he attempts to create
his "flesh architecture".
- Spencer

Mexicans to take their clothes off and pose for him.
- Texas
Art Teacher Sacked Over Nudes - I'm not sure if the nude incident
is the whole reason behind the Texas teacher losing her job, but it's
still interesting. Sydney McGee claims that she was fired after a
complaint from a parent of a student, relating to a school field trip
to the Dallas Museum of Art. He was concerned about his child seeing
"an abstract nude", which was a 4BC Greek marble torso.
- Free
Art Nudes if you Pose Nude - The artist "Johnny Naked"
has a project where you can take home a piece of art for free if you
agree to pose nude for him. Here's what happens..
- Kate
Moss Sculpture - The UK model Kate Moss will soon be a 3 meter
high bronze Kate Moss sculpture in a contorted yoga pose. Marc Quinn
will enlarge his previous version of Kate Moss, which was done last
year, and will show it at the "Beyond Limits" sale at Chatsworth
House in September.
- Lucian
Freud Kate Moss - Earlier I posted about Lucian Freud's Kate
Moss painting, and the image used (shown on the left) probably wasn't
very flattering, or maybe people just genuinely don't like Freud.
I was just under the impression that everyone loved Freud, and that
there was nothing to criticize about the man's work.
- Spencer
Tunick in France - New York photography Spencer Tunick had
the French naked with their legs in the air last week. Fifteen hundred
French got their threads off in the French town of Lyon to participate
in Spencer Tunick's latest nude fest.
- Spencer
Tunick Nudes in Belgium - Nearly 2000 people put on their
birthday suits in near freezing weather recently in Bruges, Belgium
for the photographer Spencer Tunick. An estimated 1950 people braved
the cold for the sake of art and spread themselves over the ancient
cobblestones of the Belgian city, all completely naked.
- Lucien
Freud's Kate Moss - An unusual portrait for Lucien Freud of
supermodel Kate Moss, estimated to be sold for £2,500,000-3,500,000
/ $4,500,000-6,500,000 at a Christies auction has sold for 3.93 million
pounds ($7.32 million).
- Lucian
Freud's Kate Moss Painting - Lucian Freud is arguably the
greatest living painter of the human figure. His works command prices
that reflect his respect in the art world and his painting of model
Kate Moss will soon be up for auction.
- Fernando's
Fat Women - Colombian artist Fernando Botero is holding one
of his largest exhibitions ever in Singapore with more than 70 paintings
and drawings and 36 sculptures on display. Singapore is aiming to
be a hub for international art exhibitions and the government is spending
$120USD over the next 5 years to promote the region as a "global
arts city".
- Britney
Spears Naked Sculpture - A nude sculpture of the pop star
Britney Spears clutching a dead bear rug has been creating a bit of
a stir recently. The work by Daniel Edwards, titled "Monument
to Pro-Life: The Birth of Sean Preston" shows Spears naked, pregnant,
and sensually bent over on her knees.
- Discount
for buying art nude - "A gallery owner has created a
stir by encouraging visitors to an exhibition of nudes to strip off
to help them to feel closer to the art, he said today. Kevin Money,
39, is offering 25% off any purchases of works from the Bodyline exhibition
at Gallery 39 in Swindon, Wiltshire, to anyone who bares all. But
so far, local residents have shown an indifference bordering on hostility
to the offer."
