- World's
Largest Photo - "The Great Picture" is the world's
largest photograph taken with the biggest camera in the world. I love
the fact that my little digital camera with 7 mega pixels fits in
my pocket and can be taken anywhere, but I don't think a giant jet
air craft hangar sized camera will ever be very popular!
- Art
& Perception + Painting from Photographs - I reposted
an old post asking the question; Is it OK to use photographs for painting?
It's something most painters, critics, and collectors seem to have
an opinion on, so I thought it would be interesting to see what others
think about it.

Use or Copyright Infringement - Lile from Art.net has written
about an artist/photographer friend that went to court over a copyright
infringement and was told it was a case of "Fair Use".
- Painting
from Photographs Update - The recent post about painting from
photographs created some friendly debate. Some believe it is fine
to use photographs as they're just another useful tool for the artist,
while others believe it's almost cheating, or certainly taking a shortcut.
- Painting
from Photographs - The ARTnews magazine has asked a question
that has been around for a while now.. "Why should a painting
based on a photograph be considered a less legitimate work of art
than one painted from observation or one that is simply abstract?"
- Photography
Auction Results! - Recent photography auctions by Chris-tobys

titled the Breast reached an amazing $822,400 in New York, against
an estimate of $300,000 to $400,000. Other impressive prices reached
where from Dorethea Lange's "White Angel Breadline" which
made $822,400, Richard Avedon's "The Beatles, London, England"
made $464,000 at Christies, and Robert Mapplethorpe's "American
Flag" made $352,000.
