• Kate Moss Sculpture - The UK model Kate Moss will soon be a 3 meter high bronze Kate Moss sculpture in a contorted yoga pose. Marc Quinn will enlarge his previous version of Kate Moss, which was done last year, and will show it at the "Beyond Limits" sale at Chatsworth House in September.
• Anselm Kiefer Work to be Removed - In Connecticut, a collector of the German artist Anselm Kiefer has been ordered to remove an outdoor sculpture by the artist.
• Lloyd's Building by Willard Wigan - I found this story over at Coxsoft news, which was posted a few days ago. A miniature sculpture of the Lloyd's Building by the English micro-sculptor Willard Wigan will be auctioned at the Lloyd's Building in England.
• Worlds Smallest Sculpture by Willard Wigan - I saw this guy on the news yesterday, working on sculpture that fits inside the eye of a needle. The English artist Willard Wigan works in-between heartbeats so that he doesn't destroy the piece he is creating. He uses rice or grains of sand and a surgical blade to create his "micro sculpture".
• Lego Art or the Art of the Brick - Nathan Sawaya is currently touring the United States with his "The Art of the Brick" exhibition. He just finished exhibiting at the Lancaster Museum of Art where record crowds came to see his work.
• David Cerny's Saddam Hussein - Cerny is an artist that enjoys getting a reaction from his audience. He is famous for works like his "Shark" sculpture, where a model of the former Iraqi leader Saddam Husseim is suspended in a glass box filled with formaldehyde. It's a tribute to everyone's favorite bad boy, Damien Hirst and his "The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living" work.
• Chocolate Christ Crucified - Coxsoft art recently posted this article about a chocolate Christ. It's a six foot high sculpture of Jesus Christ, made from chocolate. "My Sweet Lord" by the artist Cosimo Cavallaro was meant to be exhibited at the Lab Gallery in Manhattan over the Easter period.
• Anish Kapoor Art in the Bin - An art collector of the Indian born British sculptor Anish Kapoor was recently awarded £350,000 in damages after an art storage company mistook a work for rubbish and threw it away.
• Pumpkin Art - It's Friday the 13th, so why not carve a pumpkin?. A New York artist has published a pumpkin carving tutorial online.
• Hillary Clinton for President? - No, artnewsblog hasn't become a political news blog. Daniel Edwards has created a sculpture called "The Presidential Bust of Hillary Rodham Clinton: The First Woman President of the United States of America".
• Britney Spears Naked Sculpture - A nude sculpture of the pop star Britney Spears clutching a dead bear rug has been creating a bit of a stir recently. The work by Daniel Edwards, titled "Monument to Pro-Life: The Birth of Sean Preston" shows Spears naked, pregnant, and sensually bent over on her knees.
• Naked Disabled Woman Sculpture - A 12 foot/3.6 meter tall marble sculpture of a disabled pregnant woman is challenging people's ideas of beauty and what public art is in Britain. The sculpture will be on display in the popular Trafalgar Square for the next 18 months.
• Plinth Mistaken for Sculpture - I've heard of art being mistaken for rubbish and thrown away, but a plinth being mistaken for a piece of scuplture is new to me.
• Benvenuto Cellini Renaissance Sculpture - The 10 inch tall gold Benvenuto Cellini Renaissance sculpture that was one of the top 10 most wanted works of art by the FBI has been returned. The thief was an expert in alarms, which helped in the theft.
• Fernando's Fat Women - Colombian artist Fernando Botero is holding one of his largest exhibitions ever in Singapore with more than 70 paintings and drawings and 36 sculptures on display.
• Hanging boy sculpture - Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan is causing quite a stir at the Biennale of Contemporary Art in Seville, southern Spain with his sculpture of a hanging boy.
