Art News Blog on Twitter

I usually follow trends when they’re about to die or years before they’re fashionable, so this means that Twitter is about to die or I have finally become a good sheep and now run when the herd runs. It could be the latter as I have become quite a sell out lately.

I still haven’t worked Twitter out yet, but here’s Art News Blog on Twitter.

About Dion

Australian artist and observer of things.. all kinds of things. I like a wide variety of art, from the weird and wonderful to the bold and beautiful.. and everything in between.

  1. I went on Twitter last weekend, because The Telegraph Galleries are on Twitter. Then I put The Telegraph Galleries feed on Google Reader, which is much more convenient than Twitter. Like you, I’m still wondering why everyone is jumping on Twitter. I’ve only signed in a couple of times, and it asks the daft question “What are you doing?” I reply “Blogging” and sign out. What a waste of time!

  2. Gives me a headache just looking at it. Why do people say what they are saying? I have no idea what they are talking about, why, or how it is of any use. Like facebook, myspace and assorted other gadgetry, this is for the under 30 set. Adulthood is when you put such things aside. Emailing and blogging is bad enough, but at least one can have a rather delayed conversation, rather than just blathering on about oneself. I guess the Age of Meism isn’t quite dead yet, but hopefully is, in a Monty Python kinda way. Damn, I must be old to remember that.

  3. I suppose the point of Twitter is to be to the point, pointing out links that may have a point to them ;)?

  4. I just joined Twitter as well and I have to agree… what is all the hype about? How can people possibly have so much to say? Who has the time to sit on the computer all day looking for links to tweet? I don’t get it!

  5. Twitter seems to be about networking.. or marketing.. whichever word feels more comfortable.

I still don’t understand why it’s SO popular, but I am warming to it a little more after having an account for a couple of days.

I have 50+ “followers” too which will be handy if I ever decide to start my own

  6. Michael Dumas says:

It died today (temporarily) so I guess you are a swami or something. Good show!

  7. Ahaa, psychic ;-)

Im good at buying stocks that are at their peak

  8. I was slow to Twitter as well, but after a few weeks I am totally hooked.

Coxsoft Art, I think the trick is to not actually answer the question they set up. I use it to post links to blog posts, etc.
