Art Everywhere is coming to the United States in August. Started in the UK by Richard Reed the organization aims to flood the streets with great art. Tens of thousands of posters displaying famous American art will be on advertising billboards, bus shelters, and subway posters from one coast to the other. The 58 works of art chosen to be shown were voted on by the public from a selection of 100 works that were put forward by 5 leading art museums. Continue Reading

Google is celebrating the birth of the American impressionist painter Mary Cassatt with a Cassatt-ized Google logo.

The Virgin of the Rocks

Coxsoft Art has pointed out that the National Gallery in London scanned the under-layers of Leonardo’s “The Virgin of the Rocks” painting. They used a technique called “Infrared Reflectography” which is similar to x-radiography.
