Weather Systems by Chris Langlois opens at the Olsen Irwin gallery in Sydney on the 20th of this month. I like his large realist works of the sea and clouds, they’re minimalist and make you ponder, just as the sea itself does. But I like his smaller, much looser landscape sketches much more. Gold Coast Holiday

I went missing last week. Found myself in a car, driving north for about 9 hours, and then I just bummed around for a week, doing nothing in particular. I didn’t see any art exhibitions as the Gold Coast in Queensland is more about sun, surf and sand. Nature put on an amazing show each day though as there was a thunderstorm pretty much every day I was there. Being on the 66th floor meant I had a front row seat to the storms.Continue Reading

I have a thing for clouds at the moment. I’m totally in love with them. Some days they’re so freaking beautiful I have to look away. I’ll be driving around in the car looking at them, swearing at them in disbelief, wondering how such things could exist. So the cloud works of Dutch artist Berndnaut Smilde obviously fascinate me. He has teamed up with Harper’s Bazaar magazine to photograph famous fashion designers with his clouds.Continue Reading
