Sly the painter will be showing at the Russian Museum in St Petersburg at the end of this month. There will be paintings from 1975 through to 2013 on display. The Worth1000 website is always an interesting waste of time for me. It’s a site of Photoshop contests, where artists try and out manipulate, blur, cut, transform, and paste each other. It’s people using computer software to change pictures for those that don’t know what Photoshop is.

Archibald Packing Room Prize Winner

Australia’s most talked about art prize will soon (March 2) announce the winner for 2007. They have already announced what is called the “Packing Room Prize”, which is where the gallery staff that install the exhibition get to vote for a winner. It’s a good way to let the media and public know that the Archibald prize is coming, and it’s a tradition that the award has had for a long time.
