Shocking Scary Photographs of North Korea!

Singaporean photographer Aram Pan has photographed one of the scariest countries on earth! North Korea, DPRK, the nuclear boogeyman, and member of the axis of evil club! And surprise, surprise, it’s not as shocking and scary as we’re conditioned to believe. The photographer’s DPRK 360 project is an attempt to capture the country as it is.Continue Reading

Gold Coast Holiday

gold coast holiday

I went missing last week. Found myself in a car, driving north for about 9 hours, and then I just bummed around for a week, doing nothing in particular. I didn’t see any art exhibitions as the Gold Coast in Queensland is more about sun, surf and sand. Nature put on an amazing show each day though as there was a thunderstorm pretty much every day I was there. Being on the 66th floor meant I had a front row seat to the storms.Continue Reading

Travel Photos

Hunter Valley Winery and Nelson Bay Photos

It’s good to get away from everyday life once in a while, even if it’s just for a couple days and not too far away. There’s not much art news in this post, but I felt like posting some photos.

The Hunter Valley is best known for its Shiraz and Semillon wines. I then went to a place called Nelson Bay, which is also about 45 minutes from where I live, but close to beaches and the ocean.Continue Reading

Hunter Valley Flood Photos

I have a really good excuse for not posting much lately. The region that I live in has been flooded. So I had to evacuate for a few days while the danger of being flooded passed. Thankfully the river that passes through Maitland didn’t rise as high as expected and my home stayed dry, but a lot of rural and lower lying homes went under.

So, the usual art news should resume tomorrow. Here’s some photos of the Maitland floods and Newcastle storms that were submitted by listeners to the ABC radio here.Continue Reading

Lost in Byron Bay + Photos

Sorry about the lack of updates recently. I went looking for a new place to live and couldn’t get the laptop to connect to the Internet. The plan was to enjoy myself during the day, get lots of photos, and do some work online at night.

Having no Internet connection put a stop to the “work” part of the trip, but I still enjoyed myself during the day and took some photos. I didn’t find a new place to live though.Continue Reading
