New World Trade Center Logo

new world trade center logo

What do you think of the new World Trade Center logo? The design firm Landor Associates came up with the new logo as part of a $3.5 million dollar branding package. If I was the owner of the new NYC WTC I would be hoping that I still had $3,499,995 on credit with the design agency because $5 is what I would pay for that thing on one of the popular freelancing websites! To me it looks like a pixelated skull but I’m told the five bars are meant to represent the 5 buildings to be built. Lets see what else can be found in the new WTC logo..Continue Reading

New Logo for Art News Blog

Art News Blog Logo

I have made some adjustments to the Art News Blog logo. In keeping with the new WordPress theme that I’m using I have changed the color and I also used a different font for the ‘news blog’ text. What do you think? Good, bad, indifferent? Continue Reading

Mary Cassatt

Google is celebrating the birth of the American impressionist painter Mary Cassatt with a Cassatt-ized Google logo.

It’s one of my favorite artist tributes from Google. Google does loud and colorful logos well, but this Mary Cassatt logo shows that they can do subtle and neutral colors too. See more Google logos here.Continue Reading

Doodle 4 Google – Population Control

Doodle 4 Google is a competition open to school kids, giving them an opportunity to design a Google logo. The theme for the competition is “What I wish for the World.”

So I did my own crude Google doodle in Photoshop expressing what I wish for the world!Continue Reading

Marc Chagall Birthday

Google has celebrated the birthday of Marc Chagall with a new logo on their homepage. If I didn’t know it was supposed to say “Google” I wouldn’t know there was a word there, but I think it’s one of their better logos. It represents the artist more than the Google logo.

Marc Chagall born 7 July 1887 – died 28 March 1985.Continue Reading

Google Celebrates Diego Velazquez

The famous Spanish artist Diego Velázquez is on the Google homepage today. Google has appropriated the Spaniard’s Las Meninas from 1656 (The Maids of Honour.)

Famous Spanish ArtistI don’t think Google has integrated their logo very well with the painting but I still love that they continue to celebrate artists in this way.

New Art News Blog Logo

I have decided to go with this logo for Art News Blog. It’s basically Logo 1 from the logo post here, with a few small changes. It’s not bright, flashy, or complicated, which is what I was after. I wanted it to sit quietly in the corner and do its job without drawing too much attention to itself.Continue Reading

Art News Blog Logo Help

An international art magazine that has a very similar name to Art News Blog (just take off the word “blog” and join the first two words together) has kindly asked if I could make it clear that I am not linked to their company in any way.

I thought my bad grammar and holiday snaps might have already alerted readers to that fact that I’m not part of a larger company. But I have agreed to change my logo as the words “art” and “news” are highlighted in my current logo, which could make some think that this is the blog for the ARTnews magazine, which it is not, obviously..Continue Reading

Edvard Munch Birthday at Google

It’s the birthday of the famous Norwegian expressionist painter and printmaker Edvard Munch on the 12th of December. Google is celebrating it with a cool logo in the manner of Munch. It’s basically the Scream with a Google logo thrown in, but I quite like it.Continue Reading

Vincent van Gogh’s Birthday

It is the Dutchman’s birthday today and Google is celebrating it with a Van Gogh-ish Google logo on their homepage.
I like how they change things up a bit to celebrate different holidays and important events. Go to the Google holiday logos page to see more. They also done Michelangelo, Picasso, and Warhol.Continue Reading
