Scott Daniel Ellison Exhibition at ClampArt in New York

Scott Daniel Ellison paintings

The wonderfully quirky works of the painter Scott Daniel Ellison are showing at the ClampArt gallery in New York City. The paintings are weird, dark, mercurial, humorous, a little scary, and a lot awesome. I hadn’t heard of the artist before now, so I have been browsing the internet for his work and I’m a fan! Do click through to the gallery at the bottom of the post to see more works from the exhibition online.Continue Reading

Congo – Monkey Art

Three paintings by the monkey “Congo” recently sold for more than $25,000USD. An American contemporary art collector “Howard Hong” bought the monkey paintings in London, at Bonhams auction house. The director of modern and contemporary art at Bonhams said “We had no idea what these things were worth. We just put them in for our own amusement.”
It has been reported that Pablo Picasso once hung a Congo the monkey painting in his studio. Congo the monkey died in 1964 of tuberculosis.
Aren’t we all just monkeys with a brush?
