Samuel Johnson Portrait Attacked with Hammer

ArtDaily has reported that a portrait by Joshua Reynolds of Samuel Johnson has been attack by a homeless man wielding a hammer at the National Portrait Gallery in London.

The 44 year old Mark Paton admitted to repeatedly hitting the painting with a hammer, which has been estimated to be worth about 1.7 million pounds. It’s unsure why he did it though as he didn’t have anything against the painter or the sitter of the portrait.Continue Reading

Woman Charged for Kissing a Twombly Painting

A woman has been charged in France for kissing a Cy Twombly painting worth more than 2 million dollars. Sam Rindy was overcome with passion in front of the work and just couldn’t help herself.

A Banksy work was recently painted over by rail staff in the UK, which has prompted locals to complain. Rail staff now have photos of work by Banksy, so they don’t make the same mistake again.
