Departing with the art

Article on why art thieves exist. I’m thinking money has to be a very large reason behind it, but there’s more to it according to this piece over at the Globe and Mail.

“The reasons people steal valuable paintings are many and complex, CRAIG BURNETT says, but one thing is sure: They don’t do it for the money.”

  1. Did you hear about the museum curator that was recently sentence? Check it out on my blog, http://www.artexpterts.blogspot.com. Would you mind linking with us? Your site is great, and our readers would be interested in what you have to say.

  2. It’s all about having things. Mine is bigger than yours, mine is rarer, more expensive, or whatever.

Stealing rare art is usually ever about doing it for the money. It’s often about some kind of mental defect in the thief or the person that will possess it.

People are just bad and like to do bad things! Silly little things we are.
