Food Art

fun and weird food art

I was looking for a carrot cake recipe and somehow ended up browsing weird food art creations, mostly created by people with too much spare time I’m guessing ;-) Some of them are pretty cool. I love the first one, the chicken made of eggs..

chicken made of eggs

Just to complicate the question even further: which came first, the chicken or the egg? By UK artist Kyle Bean.

mustard food art

I’m sure most artists have this problem when they get a sauce bottle in their hands, I know I do. This is by Kevin Van Aelst.

carrot lobster art

I’m not sure who made the carrot lobster but it looks great.

water melon art

I love these water melons by the Turkish artist Sakir Gökçebag.

food artist using beans

Here’s another one by the same Turkish artist, this time using beans, which reminds me, I’ll have to look for a bean recipe that I remember eating in Turkey many years ago. (I’m really getting into cooking lately!)

foodscapes using lettuce

Carl Warner‘s foodscapes are very interesting, this one is a lettuce seascape.

Giuseppe Arcimboldo food art

And the man who probably started all this food art fun, Giuseppe Arcimboldo and his painting from around 1590, Rudolf painted as Vertumnus.

About Dion

Australian artist and observer of things.. all kinds of things. I like a wide variety of art, from the weird and wonderful to the bold and beautiful.. and everything in between.
