Haiku for You

Danny de Zayas and his fiancee have started a collaborative internet art project called Haiku for You.

Danny says “Visitors to the site submit stories or topics which are then turned into miniature works of art in the form of visual haiku. The finished pieces are a mixture of illustration, painting, photography, and digital art, and the juxtaposition of approaches and content makes for an engaging potpourri of styles and sensibilities. I’m personally fascinated by the creative potential and interactivity of the internet and am really excited to be producing this in conjunction with our users.”

haiku poems

For example, the haiku pictured above was inspired by a guy that had to apologize to the neighbors below his apartment for leaving his shower on and flooding them.

  3. Anonymous says:

Doing haiku poems at school turned me off of poetry for a long time. I just didn’t get it.

I probably thought about things too much back then.

The words and pictures work very well together.

  4. haikus speak to me
    they are verbal expression
    of things that i feel

I always do the 17 syllable
    three line haikus
