How auto-destructive art work got destroyed too soon

Oh, it’s a sad state of affairs when the lines between art and junk are so blurred that cleaners are throwing out the art! Gustav Metzger had a part of his artwork thrown out at the Tate museum recently when a cleaner mistook a bag that was part of his installation as a piece of rubbish.

“When is a bag of rubbish not a bag of rubbish? When it’s an integral piece of a high-profile exhibition at one of London’s most famous galleries.”

It just goes to show how bad art has become, where rubbish can be mistaken for art.
Im surprised sone one hasnt come up with the idea of calling a rubbish tip an outdoor installation!

  2. It was probably put where it belongs; in the bin.
