Psychologists often cite such behavior as a mechanism for coping with the anxiety associated with starting and/or completing any task or decision. There are three criteria for a behavior to be classified as procrastination: it must be counterproductive, needless, and delaying.Continue Reading

Ten Excuses for not Posting Lately

People are really good at making excuses and I’m no exception. I try not to accept my excuses though as they’re usually pathetic, just like all of your excuses for not getting off your butt and doing what you really should be doing now.

Here’s my pathetic excuses for not posting lately..Continue Reading

ArT nEwS bLoG iS 5 YeArS oLd!

Art News Blog is FIVE years old. That must make me some kind of blogger or arts writer or something. I’m most comfortable with the “something” label though. Someone called me an art critic recently and I didn’t know how to react. He said it in a way that was supposed to be flattering but I was actually very offended.Continue Reading

Art News Blog on Twitter

I usually follow trends when they’re about to die or years before they’re fashionable, so this means that Twitter is about to die or I have finally become a good sheep and now run when the herd runs. It could be the latter as I have become quite a sell out lately.Continue Reading

ANB on the Encyclopaedia Britannica Blog

Looking Back at Art News Blog 2008

Before I start 2009 I thought I might have a quick look back at 2008 on Art News Blog. It’s not a comprehensive look at the art world happenings in 2008, it’s just a few posts that I found interesting throughout the year.

Happy new year! I can’t believe how quickly the year went.

Art Books and Art Blog

Just so you know, I’m not dead, lost, imprisoned, or in a mental institute. I just needed a break and lots of ME time. Those that know me think I already have too much ME time, but I don’t think you can ever have enough of it ;-)

A blog is a greedy beast that is never satisfied and I just decided to stop feeding her for a few days, which turned into a few weeks. I guess I was angry at Art News Blog for making me feel responsible to her, but we have made up and resolved our issues.Continue Reading
