Digital Artist Recreates His Drawings from Childhood

kiddie arts of telmo pieper

I was going to do a rant on the baby killing nutbag in Israel, but I’m tired of being angry and sad. Just don’t believe that evil television sitting in your living room. Do your intelligence a favor and smash it into a thousand pieces. Your soul will thank you for it. So, I’m posting about something fun, something that makes me smile, something beautiful. It’s the art of the Dutch digital artist Telmo Pieper. His Kiddie Arts series recreates his own drawings from when he was 4 years old. He has since developed a few more technical skills but I love his four year old drawings just as much ;-) Continue Reading

Zaha Hadid’s Jockey Club Building in Hong Kong

zaha hadid architecture

If I had the slightest bit of interest in numbers I probably would have became an architect, but that wasn’t to be. I still love interesting buildings, inside and out, so I’ll probably do more architecture and design posts. Zaha Hadid Architects are finalists in the Best Tall Buildings Award run by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat with two buildings in Asia. The Jockey Club Innovation Tower at Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Wangjing SOHO in Beijing China.Continue Reading

10 Funny Old Sexist Ads

misogynist vintage ads

I’ll try not to have too much fun with this post as my radical feminist friends don’t like me to have a sense of humor about anything relating to the fairer sex. So let me say now, before you go name calling and punching your little fists into the air or whatever it is you radicals do when you get all excited, I do not approve of these ads. I think they’re funny and educational.Continue Reading

Chairs as Art

art chairs exhibition

Chairs as Art is showing at the Lois Lambert Gallery in Santa Monica, CA. It’s a group exhibit of more than thirty artists showing one of a kind and limited edition chairs. I wish I could make it to the show as I love chairs almost as much as I love paintings! If I ever become ridiculously wealthy I would like to hire a team of craftsmen to create my chair designs as I just don’t have the skills required. Here’s a few beauties from the chair exhibition..Continue Reading

Car Company Opel’s Animals Colliding Ad Campaign

opel car company ad campaign

I’m not sure this ad campaign by the German car maker Opel really works. I guess it works to some extent as it has prompted me to share it, which means it’s viral and is doing what it’s meant to (free advertising), but other than that, I’m not so impressed. Maybe I’m just getting old and losing my sense of humor, but I don’t find a cute little penguin stuck in the bum of a polar bear funny. The ad agency Scholz & Friends created the campaign to highlight the new forward collision alert feature on Opel vehicles and the joke is that animals don’t have this function.Continue Reading

Solar Roads

solar roads

What do roads have to do with art? Not much and I don’t really care as this is such a FREAKIN’ good idea!! In fact, I fear that it is so great of an idea that it will never get off the ground. You see, I think the matrix that we live in depends on us having a set number of problems to keep the majority of us on our knees. This awesome idea solves too many problems and improves the lives of too many people in one fell swoop to be allowed. Imagine solar roadways combined with electric cars! The oil and electricity industries wouldn’t stand for it. So, go support solar freakin’ roadways at Indiegogo and at least give this idea a chance… now!!!Continue Reading
